Code for Communities: Women in Tech Punjab

About the Event

Code for Communities: Women in Tech Punjab is a focused, high-energy hackathon designed to empower women developers, designers, and innovators to solve real-world problems. Supported by Natchkin and Innovation Mission Punjab, this in-person build sprint brings together 50 passionate women technocrats to learn, build, and showcase impactful solutions for community.

The hackathon centers on building functional applications within a 3 - 4 hour sprint using Antigravity alongside Google technologies like Gemini, Stitch, and the Android Development Kit (ADK). To keep the challenge fresh and dynamic, a dedicated track will be revealed on the spot at the start of the event.

Who Can Participate?

This hackathon is open to all women innovators eager to build and solve real-world problems in the community:

Working Professionals: Software engineers, frontend/backend developers, AI/ML practitioners, UI/UX designers, and product managers working in tech or the IT industry.

Women Tech Students: College and university students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related technical disciplines.

Passionate Women Innovators: Self-taught coders, tech enthusiasts, bootcamp graduates, and career transitioners passionate about technology and rapid prototyping.

Note: As this is an individual build sprint, basic coding familiarity and hands-on development experience are recommended to make the most of the workshop and build phases.

Hackathon Rules & Guidelines

1. Solo Participation Only

• This is strictly an individual hackathon no teams are allowed.

•  Every participant must build, manage, and submit their project independently.

2. On-the-Spot FemTech Tracks

• There will be only one dedicated track, revealed live at the start of the event.

• Your project must clearly align with and solve a problem statement under this track.

3. Fresh Code Policy

• Build from Scratch: All project logic, flows, and code must be developed strictly within the 3–4 hour build sprint.

• No Pre-built Apps: Using existing codebases, finished templates, or projects started before the event is strictly prohibited and will lead to instant disqualification.

•  Allowed Assets: Open-source UI component libraries, public SDKs, and standard third-party APIs are allowed.

4. Mandatory Tech Stack

• Core Requirement: Solutions must integrate Antigravity as a foundational component.

• Bonus Integrations: Effective implementation of companion Google developer tools (Gemini, Stitch, or ADK) will earn higher technical merit.

5. Submission Deliverables

Before the countdown timer hits zero, every builder must submit:

• Code Repository: Public link to GitHub/GitLab repository.

• Live Demo / Preview: Hosted link or working local demo.

• Project Pitch Note: A brief 2-3 line summary highlighting the problem and your solution.

6. Fast-Track Judging Process (1 - 2 Hours Total)

• Parallel Pods: 3-4 judges will review participants in parallel streams to ensure everyone is evaluated on time.

• Speed Evaluation (3 mins per participant):

• 2 Minutes: Live working prototype demo.

• 1 Minute: Direct Q&A with the judge.

• Fair Play: Decisions made by the judging panel will be final and binding.

7. Evaluation Breakdown (100 Points)

• Problem-Solution Fit: 25 Points

• Tech Implementation: 25 Points

• Working Prototype & Stability: 25 Points

• UI/UX & User Experience: 15 Points

• Live Defense & Q&A: 10 Points
